Design & UX
Our overall approach was to deliver a look (UI) and feel (UX) of a fully fledged e-Retail experience, even though the site is officially an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
With the level of product offering being relatively limited and the target market being SME workshop or retail, we created industry-based navigation in addition to categories. Not only did this 'pad out' the UI it was functional, with one-click views for customers to browse the catalogue by their specific sector.
Brand Considerations
With not one, but two corporate brand guidelines to work within, our design approach was pared back- using a light canvas and visual creatives limited to banner and promotional assets only. Applying theming over the this using the Viva Energy design system from their parent site ensured the site was brand consistent and also had no risk of contravening Shell Oils own brand standards.
